As we look forward to the New Year a quick look back at the season so far.

Fixtures are always on the tip of most people’s tongues with the first half of this season disrupted by many postponements due to rain and frost, the league also lost two scheduled matchdays due to the number of teams entering the Dragon signs FAW Trophy.

The number of fixtures postponed so far this season stands at SEVENTY-NINE, thirty-seven in the Ardal Northeast and forty-two in the Ardal Northwest, some of these games have already been rescheduled with the fixtures until the end of February released.

Radnor Valley sit top of the Northeast at Christmas having played twelve games, Penrhyncoch are second a point behind on the same games played. Llanuwchllyn are the only unbeaten side in both leagues but have played less games than any other team. Welshpool Town sit bottom of the table and are yet to win a league game this season,

In the Lock Stock Ardal Northwest CPD Rhyl 1879 lead the table by eight points from Nantlle Vale and St Asaph, Vale have played one game less. At the bottom Hawarden Rangers won their first game of the season last time out and are level on points with Bethesda Athletic at the wrong end of the table with a game in hand.

There will be a new name on the Lock Stock Ardal Northern league cup, the last two winners (Caersws and Denbigh Town) having gained promotion.

There are nine Ardal Northern teams left in the Dragon Signs FAW Trophy with three guaranteed a place in the next round.

Flint Mountain carry the leagues flag in the JD Welsh cup, they visit Bala Town in the quarter final.

Plenty to play for as we enter 2024 with everything crossed that the weather is a lot kinder than it was in the first half of the season.
